The Grocery Manufacturing Association is hosting a webinar explaining a new biotechnology disclosure law.

Set for 2 p.m. EST Jan. 8, “Biotech Disclosure Law Webinar: Preparing for Implementation” covers the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service’s final rule implementing the biotech disclosure law – one of the final steps in the rule-making process.

The proposed rule left some key issues undecided, such as mandatory disclosure of refined ingredients and threshold levels, according to GMA.

“This session will provide you with information on where USDA ended up on these key issues, give your company some items to be considered as you plan for implementation and raise issues for further engagement with USDA. With an implementation date of January 1, 2020 and compliance required by January 1, 2022, it is critical for you and your company to get up to speed quickly on the final rule—this webinar will help you do that.”

Participants will hear from Martin Hahn, partner, and Veronica Colas, senior associate, both of Hogan Lovells, two well-respected food industry attorneys who worked closely with the GMA team on key provisions of the Biotech Disclosure law and our response to the proposed rule.

GMA members may attend the webinar for free. For nonmembers the cost is $149.
