inMarket—the mobile in-store marketing solution that works in over two million retail stores—today announces the launch of the first multi-retailer iBeacon platform in the world, and the first grocery marketing solution of its kind. The inMarket Mobile to Mortar network is a retailer-agnostic iBeacon platform that will augment the shopping experience for consumers across the country beginning January 6. The initial rollout will take place in over 150 grocery stores in Seattle, San Francisco and Cleveland, with additional retailers and markets launching in the coming months. Video of potential platform capabilities can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/83270004.

iBeacons are micro-location technology that use a low-energy Bluetooth signal to enable unique mobile app experiences with higher accuracy than GPS. As inMarket rolls out its iBeacon network, it will provide shoppers with a wide range of benefits—like custom coupons, loyalty rewards, and grocery list reminders—when it matters most: in store. For example, shoppers who opt-in can be reminded of items a spouse just placed on their shared list, earn loyalty rewards, or be directed to a custom special offer.

"We are thrilled to be making history by writing the first chapter of micro-location iBeacons helping shoppers' everyday lives. Besides Apple themselves, we are the first to take this groundbreaking technology out of beta tests and into consumers' lives throughout the heartland of the US," says Todd Dipaola, CEO and co-founder of inMarket. "Today is just the first wave of this exciting movement, and inMarket has several additional platform announcements that we will take the wraps off in 2014. Mobile to Mortar has tremendous potential to transform commerce by converging digital benefits to physical stores. inMarket is proud to bring high ROI solutions out of the lab and into the marketplace for brands and retailers based on our enterprise technology stack."
