The location was established last year as a concession stand that offered healthy food and beverage options. It has been completely renovated and the menu has been expanded, with customizable salads and wraps, grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers and hot dogs, and a variety of healthy snacks.
"We know Royals fans love trying new foods when they come to the ballpark," says Michael Bucek, the Royals' vice-president of marketing and business development. "The Market Place will now offer plenty of great healthy food and beverage options alongside our traditional and unique ballpark foods."
The Market Place has been designed as an open space with a hot item menu, snack wall and DraftServ self-service beer draft system. Fans will make their purchases on a Mashgin 3D self-checkout kiosk that uses cameras to scan the items.
