A new-concept Cub Foods store will be half the size of the chain’s traditional stores and will lean heavily on retail foodservice offerings.

The 46,000-square-foot store, set to open in Spring 2019, will anchor a residential complex in Minneapolis, according to a story in the Minneapolis StarTribune.

The store will feature “a large deli area with a selection of Quick and Easy and made-to-order meals,” according to the story.

The store will anchor a five-story, 148-unit residential complex, according to the story. Residents will be able to order groceries or meals from the store through an app for delivery to their door within an hour.

Cub Foods is a division of Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based Supervalu.
