Customers at a West Jordan, Utah, 7-Eleven who bought hot prepared foods and other items or used the store’s bathroom could have been exposed to hepatitis A.

Salt Lake County Health Department officials are recommending a preventative vaccine for any customers who visited the store from Dec. 26 through Jan. 3 and used the restroom or consumed fountain drinks or self-serve beverages, fresh fruit or any item from the store’s hot food case, according to a story in the Deseret News.

As many as 2,000 customers could be affected. The possible exposure occurred when an infected employee worked while ill. Consumers who purchased packaged items only are not at risk, according to the story.
