Refrigeration specialist Hillphoenix has been honored for its environmental responsibility.

Conyers, Georgia- based Hillphoenix earned the 2016-17 Store Certification Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill program, which helps supermarkets reduce refrigerant emissions and decrease their impact on the ozone layer and climate change.

Hillphoenix won the award for installing more advanced refrigeration systems in GreenChill-certified stores than any other manufacturer over the past year. Hillphoenix systems were installed in 77 percent of GreenChill-certified stores. This is Hillphoenix’s seventh award since the program was launched in 2007.

"Hillphoenix deserves recognition for developing such a variety of innovative refrigeration systems that are responding to supermarkets’ desire to be environmentally and economically sustainable," says Tom Land, GreenChill’s manager.

Hillphoenix’s systems have helped remove more than 2.5 billion pounds of harmful emissions in the past two decades, according to the company.
