Fresh grocery soup specialist Blount Fine Foods is adding bowls to its instore repertoire.

Fall River, Massachusetts-based Blount will begin shipping its Noodle & Rice Bowl products to retailers in August. The ready-to-heat bowls come with separately packaged noodles and are ready in three minutes.

The line contains four bowls:

  • Chicken Ramen. Ramen noodles, white chicken meat, vegetables, chicken broth featuring soy sauce and rice koji;
  • Hibachi Chicken & Rice (gluten-free). Garlic, ginger, red onion, red peppers, tomatoes, rice and chicken;
  • Coconut Chicken & Noodle. Ramen noodles, white chicken meat, vegetables and coconut curry broth featuring lemongrass and cilantro; and
  • Asian-inspired Vegetable & Rice (vegan and gluten-free). Coconut curry broth featuring lemongrass and cilantro, cabbage, bamboo shoots and other Asian vegetables.

“These new bowls represent the confluence of two important and undeniable trends in consumer purchase behavior: broad desire for innovative world flavors and recipes, as well as the ever-growing demand for healthier, easier-to-prepare meals,” Bob Sewall, Blount’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release.

In addition to soups and the new bowls, Blount makes entrees, sauces and side dishes for retail and foodservice.
