Retail giant Ahold USA has expanded a deal with a price optimization software specialist to better meet customers’ needs on price.

Quincy, Massachusetts-based Ahold USA, a division of Holland-based Ahold Delhaize, is extending its use of software made by Austin, Texas-based Revionics Inc. The retailer plans to use Revionics’ Price Suite price optimization software, an SaaS-based model that integrates analytics, technology and services to help companies make pricing decisions.

The software will now be used at three additional  Ahold USA retail chains — Stop & Shop, Giant Landover and Giant/Martin's — and at Peapod, the online grocery delivery service owned by Ahold Delhaize. Two other Ahold USA banners, Food Lion and Hannaford, are already using Price Suite and another Revionics program, Markdown Suite, says Chris Brand, an Ahold Delhaize spokesman.

Ahold USA chose Revionics to enhance its “customer-focused pricing,” according to a news release.

"Revionics will help Ahold USA brands deliver on their 'better place to shop' promise," says Nick Bertram, senior vice president of merchandising at Ahold USA. "Our brands will leverage Revionics Price Suite to better align pricing with their customer preferences in their diverse and growing customer base while delivering powerful business impact."

Ahold USA operates 780 stores in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
