More than 150 retailers from around the US are teaming up with the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board this spring for the sixth annual Grilled Cheese Recipe Showdown.

The WMMB is connecting Wisconsin cheesemakers with retailers for exclusive in-store promotions and live events that encourage sampling and purchase while building awareness for the grilled cheese competition. Several Wisconsin cheese manufacturers are also working with retail partners on branded point of sale displays and on-pack coupon promotions.

The 2016 competition drew more than 2,000 entries and the WMMB said it expects this year's pool to grow. Recipes will be accepted from March 30 to May 14 and will be judged non only on taste, but also creativity and presentation. The grand prize winner will get $15,000 while more than $13,500 in additional cash and bonus prizes will also be awarded throughout the competition.
