Whole Foods Market has opened a bakery within its store in Upper St. Clair, Pa., making the location one of only about 30 of the grocer’s outlets that bake bread in-house.

According to an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the bakery opened on Jan. 25 and produces eight varieties of bread from organic flour, as well as croissants, bagels and Danish pastries.

Whole Foods operates nearly 470 stores across North America and the United Kingdom, but only about 30 make bread in-house. The Upper St. Clair location is now the only Whole Foods Market in the Pittsburgh area with a fully scratch bakery, with all the bread either made on site or shipped in from Mediterra Bakehouse, an artisan bakery in Robinson, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The newspaper said the bakery makes about 150 loaves on weekdays and 400 weekends, with the typical loaves ranging in price from $1.99 to $5.99.
