General Mills Foodservice
General Mills Foodservice has announced the launch of the new Pillsbury Thaw & Serve Chocolate Chip Blondie. The light, chewy blondies feature warm brown sugar and vanilla flavors with chocolate chips throughout, offering foodservice operators an indulgent, low-labor way to menu a variety of desserts. Available in half or full sheets on parchment-lined trays, the blondies are designed for ultimate convenience—just thaw, cut and serve.
La Terra Fina
La Terra Fina created a pair of new dips and spreads that combine flavorful peppers with a dairy base. This spring the company debuted its Sweet Pepper Dip & Spread, and Cheddar Jack & Roasted Peppers Dip & Spread, both of which will launch at Costco. The Sweet Pepper variety features cream cheese blended with piquillo pepper strips, jalapeños, fire-roasted red bell peppers and a touch of chili sauce. Cheddar Jack & Roasted Peppers is a “rich and cheesy dip” that includes premium mild cheddar, Monterey Jack and fire-roasted peppers.
Sargento
Sargento announced the launch of several new products, many of which involved collaborations with other food companies, including sliced Natural American Cheese, three varieties of Seasoned Shredded Cheese and three cheese and cracker snacking combinations of Shareables. The company said it developed the shredded cheese flavors with McCormick & Co, Inc., leading to the creation of three spicy options: Frank’s RedHot, Cholula and McCormick Crushed Red Pepper. Sargento said consumers are seeking more bold and spicy flavors, and its new Seasoned Shredded Cheese products “deliver the heat with recognizable flavor brands.”
Del Fresco Pure
Del Fresco Pure’s newest addition to its organic line is Organic Seedless English Cucumbers. The company also recently received Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) certification. EFI is a nonprofit organization that “sets standards for labor practices, food safety, and pest management while engaging workers at all levels to produce Responsibly Grown, Farmworker Assured fruits and vegetables.”
