TILLAMOOK, ORE. — Cheese makers at Tillamook County Creamery Association emphasized smoked and spicy flavors when developing the company’s newest cheese products.

Ahead of Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer, Tillamook launched its Spicy Colby Jack Slices, Spicy Mexican Blend Farmstyle Thick Cut Shreds, Extra Sharp Triple White Cheddar Shreds and Smoked Medium Cheddar Slices.

The Oregon-based dairy cooperative shared that the Spicy Colby Jack Slices feature jalapeño, chipotle and Scotch bonnet peppers. The Mexican shreds include cheddar, Monterey Jack and Colby cheeses with the same aforementioned peppers, which also provide the heat in the Smoked Medium Cheddar Slices. The cheddar shreds include extra sharp, sharp and medium white cheddars.

"Tillamook cheese is made for cheese lovers, by cheese lovers,” Tillamook executive chef of culinary development Josh Archibald said. “We use real, natural ingredients to produce the flavor-rich bites that leave you craving more. As we head into summer and the start of grilling season, whether you're looking to add a hickory upgrade to your next backyard burger with our Smoked Medium Cheddar Slices or elevate your taco game with Spicy Mexican Blend Farmstyle Thick Cut Shreds, our new full-flavored lineup will bring any dish to new heights."

The new cheese products debuted at retail locations throughout the United States.
