FAIRFIELD, CALIF. — True Story Foods, a family-run meat producer that focuses on animal welfare, is expanding distribution of its Protein Toppers Diced Chicken Breast.

The product, which launched in April 2024, is now available at Whole Foods across the Northern California, Southern Pacific, Midwest, Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions.

The two flavors available at Whole Foods are Oven Roasted and Roasted Garlic. Each serving contains up to 15 grams of protein.

The company has found that consumers seeking proteins that are humanely raised with no antibiotics and only clean, natural ingredients love the convenience of the ready-to-eat Protein Toppers.

“Customers have responded very positively to the versatility offered by Protein Toppers,” said McKiernan Faherty, senior brand manager. “They’re equally great for topping salads or grain bowls, topping flatbreads or pizzas, or filling quesadillas as for packing in kids’ lunches.”

True Story Foods also recently expanded distribution of its Heritage Breed Diced Pancetta to 340 Whole Foods stores, the company said.

“Whole Foods has been a key partner of True Story Foods since its inception,” said Phil Gatto, CEO. “We’re delighted to continue to build our presence in the store that has become synonymous with natural and organic foods.”
