EWING, N.J. — On April 24 at 2 p.m. ET, GS1 US is hosting a webinar with McKesson Corporation and Target on supply chain traceability challenges and solutions.

According to the organization, 43% of respondents to a GS1 US survey said they struggle to maintain full visibility in their supply chains.

“In today's fast-paced market, supply chain visibility is more crucial than ever in retail grocery environments,” GS1 US said. “With traceability regulations for food safety, many companies are also investigating solutions that answer the ‘what, who, when, where, and why’ of product movement to amp up efficiency and profitability.”

The webinar, titled “How McKesson and Target Are Electrifying Their Supply Chains,” will be a 45-minute interactive session to answer questions about Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS), a GS1 Standard.

The session will feature the following speakers:

Scott Mooney, VP operations, McKesson Corporation

“Focusing on ensuring product integrity through regulatory compliance and traceability, Scott manages McKesson’s enterprise DSCSA Track and Trace deployment,” GS1 US said. “With over 40 years of experience, Scott has shared his knowledge of GS1 Standards around the globe.”

Mark Prigge, technical program manager, Target

“With a passion for ensuring information is shared across all platforms, Mark coordinates teams to seamlessly integrate enterprise endpoints at new food distribution centers,” GS1 US said. “With Target since 1997, Mark currently supports their food supply chain, focusing on traceability.”

The session will focus on the following three topics:

  • Capturing essential data from source to consumer with EPCIS
  • Industry insights around EPCIS and amplifying supply chain visibility
  • Real-time demonstration of EPCIS in action

“Supply chain functional experts and business leaders will see firsthand the impact of EPCIS in an actual supply chain, while extended supply chain team members, including those with marketing and technology positions, can learn how this advanced visibility could benefit their roles,” GS1 US said.
