CHICAGO — Pre Brands is offering an expanded line-up of the company's better-for-you steaks, ground beef and stew meat at all BJ's Wholesale Club locations.

The product selection at BJ's now includes the following:

  • In-store ribeye (20 oz/2 pk)
  • New York strip (20 oz/2 pk)
  • Sirloin steak (18oz / 3 pk)
  • Stew meat (16oz)
  • 90% lean ground beef (3pk / 48oz)

The expansion comes as Pre Brands sees increased consumer interest in healthier proteins, amid tightening grocery budgets, the company said.

"The better-for-you beef category has grown significantly year-over-year as shoppers continue to make room in their carts — and budgets — for lean red meat," said Nicole Schumacher, chief marketing officer, Pre Brands. "We're thrilled to introduce new and classic grass-fed and grass-finished beef offerings to BJ's members, helping them maximize their budgets without sacrificing either taste or their nutritional goals."

In March, Pre Brands announced the upcoming expansion of its grass-fed and grass-finished premium ground beef products at select Kroger locations across the United States.

“With consumers increasingly focused on their health and wellness, they’re seeking versatile and delicious grocery options to support their lifestyles,” Schumacher said. “This expansion within Kroger and its regional banners allows Pre to serve the growing demand for lean proteins better as healthier ground beef options increase their presence in the grocery carts across the country. We’ve seen ground beef unit consumption increase by 72%, supporting this trend.”

Through the expansion, Pre products’ availability will increase by 45% within the Kroger network.

Pre’s products are currently available in the refrigerated meat section at retail locations nationwide, including Kroger’s Harris Teeter, Mariano’s, Metro Market and Pick’ n Save stores. Beginning March 2025, Pre’s 92% and 95% lean ground beef will be available in Kroger’s Columbus, Dillon’s and Ralph’s stores across Ohio, Kansas and California.

Pre’s beef is sourced from cattle that graze year-round on nutrient-rich grasses in New Zealand and Australia. Pre’s portfolio includes Ribeye, Filet mignon, New York strip, petite sirloins, ground beef, seasonal items, burger patties and chuck roast.
