The newest Crunch Kits from BrightFarms, Mediterranean and Southwest Chipotle, bring bold flavors and crave-worthy crunch to every bite, said Jess Soare, the company’s senior director of marketing. Look for more additions to the Crunch Kit lineup later this year.
“We’re always looking for new ways to innovate and provide our customers with on-trend, convenient, and responsibly-grown leafy greens,” Soare said.
With consumers looking for “effortless ways to enjoy nutritious meals,” Crunch Kits are packed with everything they need, Soare said — fresh greens, flavorful toppings, and chef-crafted dressings.
And they’re equipped with a resealable lid, allowing for a quick, fresh, and easy meal at home: simply combine the ingredients, reseal, and shake.
Salad kits are an expanding segment of the packaged salad category, up 5.7% in dollar sales, Soare said, citing Nielsen data. BrightFarms kits are leading the charge, with an impressive 87% growth during that same period. And sales of indoor-grown salad kits have doubled.
“We’re redefining what a salad kit can be by growing our greens in regional greenhouses, ensuring they’re harvested at peak freshness and put on shelves in as little as 24 hours.”
That means they stay fresh longer and help reduce food waste compared to traditional field-grown options. Unlike most salad kits, which rely on cabbage or rough greens as a base — prioritizing shipping efficiency over consumer satisfaction — BrightFarms’ Crunch Kits are built around its fresh, leafy greens, delivering a restaurant-quality salad in just a couple of minutes.
The brand’s chef-crafted kits, like Mediterranean and Southwest Chipotle, bring bold, restaurant-quality flavors to the table with premium ingredients like crispy chickpeas and feta. And because BrightFarms’ leafy greens are pesticide-free, Soare said, there’s no need to wash them before eating.
In the past year alone, BrightFarms has opened state-of-the-art greenhouses in Illinois, Texas, and Georgia.
