Growth in the salad kit category shows no signs of slowing, and producers are responding with new ideas, flavors and combinations of old favorites.
In 2025 Bonduelle Americas, owner of the Ready Pac brand, is excited about the launch of its Korean Gochujang Salad Kit, inspired by the popularity of Korean cuisine, said Deanna Jurgens, chief sales officer.
The chef-crafted kit includes iceberg lettuce, green & red cabbage, carrots, and crispy brown rice, all mixed together with a dressing that balances the heat of gochujang with soy and sesame.
Another focus for Bonduelle this year will be growing its Bonduelle Bistro Loaded Bowls, which debuted in 2024.
The bowls cater to consumers seeking convenient, fresh, and flavorful meal solutions. Loaded with fresh greens, premium ingredients and bold flavors, they’re designed to provide a satisfying meal that’s quick and easy to enjoy at home with more than 12 grams of protein, Jurgens said.
“No meal prep, no lines — just grab, go, and enjoy.”
When it comes to trends, Bonduelle is tracking a major shift toward convenient and nutritious meal solutions that are inspired by global flavors, Jurgens said.
The company is also keeping a close eye on consumers who are becoming more aware of the environmental and health benefits of flexitarianism, which has sent demand for fresh, plant-rich meals “skyrocketing,” she added.
In addition, with its robust innovation pipeline, Bonduelle is focused on convenience, offering ready-to-eat meal kits that mimic the high-quality, satisfying bowls found at fast-casual restaurants.
Health and convenience lead the way
The sheer number of trends Bonduelle and other companies are hustling to keep up with indicates the strength of the salad kit category.
“Consumers are increasingly prioritizing fresh, clean ingredients in their diets as awareness around health and wellness continues to rise,” Jurgens said. “We’re really excited about the direction the market is heading. Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of their food choices, looking for healthier, more affordable, and convenient options — and Bonduelle is committed to providing just that.”
In their quest to meet this surging demand, what sets Bonduelle’s bowls and kits apart, Jurgens said, is the quality and variety of ingredients, as well as the bold flavors the company incorporates.
Bonduelle kits, she said, are the perfect combination of flavors and textures for a delicious experience at an affordable price.
“We offer new and unexpected flavors,” Jurgens said. “Our brand has the unique ability to have a finger on the pulse of global flavor and ingredient trends. Inspiration and innovation comes from everywhere, be it an emerging culinary trend in Europe, a viral Social Media recipe, or restaurant menus.”
Bonduelle takes that knowledge and translates it into new takes on seasonal, on-trend flavor kits perfect for families to enjoy.
Expect more news in the second half of 2025, Jurgens said.
“We’re currently working on a brunch-inspired seasonal kit anchored in citrus and bubbly beverages perfect for summer.”
