CHICAGO — The Laughing Cow expanded its portfolio of spreadable, creamy cheese wedges, adding Creamy Smoked Gouda to the lineup.
The Bel Brands USA brand shared that the new variety features a “smoky, rich profile,” and 2 grams of protein per wedge. The Laughing Cow said its formulators achieved an “ideal” and “bold” flavor by using a slow smoked cheese, aged 10 to 12 weeks.
"When creating new flavor innovations, we prioritize trending flavors and what excites cheese enthusiasts to deliver options that satisfy their cravings," Bel Brands USA senior brand director Jessica Dillion said.
The cheese maker recommended pairing the gouda with vegetables and crackers, and/or featuring it on a charcuterie board. The Laughing Cow also noted the cheese spread melts easily and may be added to soups, pastas and dips.
The debut of Smoked Gouda follows two launches from The Laughing Cow in 2024, when it introduced Creamy Jalapeño and a limited-edition Everything Bagel Style.
With the launch of its newest variety at retailers throughout the United States, The Laughing Cow lineup of creamy, spreadable cheeses now includes: Original, Light, Garlic & Herb, Aged White Cheddar, Spicy Pepper Jack, Jalapeño and Smoked Gouda, as well as dairy-free Spreadable Cheese Alternative Original and Spreadable Cheese Alternative Garlic & Herb.
