SILVER SPRING, MD. — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has once again partnered with non-profit public health organization Stop Foodborne Illness on a food safety culture webinar series.

“Each hour-long webinar will feature industry experts who will address critical aspects of food safety culture, building from basic assumptions which underpin an organization’s food safety work to the messages and programs which support an organization’s food safety culture,” the FDA said. “Participants will walk away with actionable strategies to improve their company’s food safety culture, as well as approaches to address common misconceptions that can impact food safety behavior in day-to-day operations.”

The first webinar in the 2025 seven-part series will be on Jan. 29.

The series will follow the following schedule throughout the year:

  1. Jan. 29: Interrogate Your Assumptions — Understand and verify the assumptions that underpin your company culture.
  2. March 19: How to Turn a Problem into an Opportunity — Integrate root cause analysis into the fabric of your company.
  3. May (Exact date TBD): Live at the Food Safety Summit: Measure the Power of Declared Values — How your metrics should reinforce the values you hold.
  4. July (Exact date TBD): Live Your Values Day by Day — Avoid complacency through proactive ongoing reinforcement of company values.
  5. Sept. 3: Culture Change Carnival — A lighting round session that will provide tools, insights and creative activities from industry peers to continuously improve your food safety culture.
  6. Oct. 29: Understanding Artifacts — Spot key indicators for success as we break down green flags seen though food safety culture artifacts.
  7. Dec. 17: The Wrap-Up: Bringing it All Together — Reflect on the key learnings of Series Two and look towards the future with actionable strategies for positive change.
