V&V Supremo Foods, Inc., one of the top US producers of authentic Mexican cheeses, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

From humble beginnings in 1964 with just $500, Gilberto Villaseñor, Sr. and Ignacio Villaseñor crafted authentic Mexican products, bringing “a taste of home to Chicago,” according to the company.

Their dedication to quality and tradition transformed a small venture into a family-owned business that now serves the entire United States.

Sixty years later, the tradition of quality and family values continues, “bringing great memories through great food.” Today, the legacy is carried on by Gilberto Villaseñor II and Philip Villaseñor, sons of the original founders.”

The anniversary comes on the heels of V&V’s standout performance at the 2024 Illinois State Fair Dairy Products competition, where the company received multiple blue ribbons, including two products that scored perfect 10s.

V&V’s Queso Blanco, which received a perfect score, was selected as one of the Top 5 overall products at the Dairy Products competition.
