Superfresh Growers’ new Orchard Buddies branded organic apples, packed in sustainable bags, are aimed right at its youngest consumers, said Catherine Gipe-Stewart, marketing director.

Rather than licensing existing cartoon or movie characters, Superfresh created its own collection of friendly animal characters.

The design and production of Orchard Buddies, whose marketing also includes an illustrated children’s book, all was done in-house, Gipe-Stewart said.

One of the messages, she said, was to show “farming that’s in tune with nature.”

Bags contain galas, fujis and other popular varieties.
