The grass-fed meat category continues to evolve to keep up with growing demand from health-minded consumers.
Greenridge Naturals got its start in the grass-fed category with Original Beef Meat Sticks, which are sold in both traditional retailers and club stores.
Since then, the company has expanded its product roster to include one-ounce snack sticks, which launched just recently, said Claire Flannery, Greenridge’s director of communications.
Made with grass-fed beef and antibiotic chicken, the snack sticks cater to the increasing demand for convenient, clean-label snacks, she added.
The all-natural sticks are hardwood smoked (never liquid smoked) and available in three flavors: Original Beef, Jalapeno and Cheddar Beef and Buffalo Style Chicken. They’re also MSG-, soy- and gluten-free and have no added nitrates, artificial flavors or colors.
“We made them with health-conscious on-the-go shoppers in mind,” Flannery said. Demand continues to surge for grass-fed meats, Flannery said. You can now find grass-fee at all major grocery chains, not just in specialty shops.
Greenridge is also keeping a close eye on the emergence of byproducts of grass-fed beef, like beef tallow, whey protein powder, butter and supplements.
“Today’s consumers are more conscious of the quality of food they purchase, recognizing the benefits of grass-fed beef and adjacent products supporting their eating habits and dietary needs,” Flannery said. “Grass-Fed beef is typically easier to digest, has fewer calories, and has more heart-healthy fats, making it an easy alternative to the more processed red meats in the market.”
Greenridge’s grass-fed beef is sourced from US producers and is never frozen.
